Blood Speaks

Listening to the Smoke Fairies has the same the effect as a Siren’s song calling infatuated sailors to their eminent demise. With sultry, harmonious vocals that both fascinate and hypnotize, you find yourself lured into Blood Speaks in a way where you couldn’t leave, even if you wanted to.
One song effortlessly flows into the next, so much so that when I was listening on Spotify, I didn’t even realize that I was well into their 2011 release, Through Low Light and Trees. The soothing, calming songs are pitch perfect, in the same vein as Tori Amos; ethereal vocals with a deep undertone of darkness.
With growing popularity in the UK and a big fans like Jack White endorsing the band, I’m sure that we will see them in the US soon. Ring ring. Hello? I think that’s XPoNential Music Festival calling. Better pick up, Smoke Fairies.
