Even though he has been well received by press and radio, toured extensively, and been compared to Dylan and Springsteen in reviews, Jared McCloud insists that “the song is what is most important.” He considers himself a songwriter first and foremost, as well as someone who works diligently at creative ways to deliver his message.
“With my last record, I was trying to tell a love story of this epic romance. The last thing I wanted to do was make the same record again”. His latest effort “Painful Words Of Loving Grace” finds McCloud dealing with his family’s past, relationships that turned sour, and life questions like, “what now?”.
McCloud got his start playing in hard rock bands that were all poised to do well, but fizzled out rather quickly. Around this time Jared started writing new material with an acoustic style in mind, and began to play solo. This led to all sorts of successes, from his first indie deal, to endorsements including Alvarez guitars, SIT Strings, and Steve Clayton pics. Critics and fans alike began to take notice of McCloud’s talent as a prolific lyricist, singer and guitar player, winning him various awards and achievements.
Since then, Jared McCloud has shared stages with the likes of Candlebox, Vertical Horizon, and countless others- as well as continuing to tour both as a headliner, and opening up for bigger names like Ernie Halter and Ingram Hill.
Jared’s stirring new music video, complete with a surprise/twist ending, is now making noise in the social media world.
