Are you a fan of local food and music? Did you miss the chance to go to this year’s Philadelphia Vendy Awards? You’re in luck. This year’s University City District-hosted Baltimore Avenue Dollar Stroll is looking better than ever, and it will feature the best Philadelphia food vendors, including two of the best food truck participants from the 2014 Vendy Awards. Milk and Sugar provides delicious, heavenly-sweet handmade desserts that are absolutely to die for, including cupcakes that are perhaps the best in Philly. The Whirly Pig, meanwhile, is a little more robust, offering a range of pork-based delicacies to satisfy the palate.
These food trucks are just the beginning. The Baltimore Avenue Dollar Stroll will also feature rising Philly staple Little Baby’s Ice Cream, craft beer from Dock Street Brewery, Gojjo Ethiopian Restaurant and Bar, and over 30 more vendors, including more food trucks and other wares, ranging from theater tickets to pet toys. Add in live sets from local electro-pop act City Rain and the harmony-heavy indie rock band Purples, and you’ve got yourself an utterly enjoyable summer afternoon.
The 2014 Baltimore Avenue Dollar Stroll will be held from 5:30 PM to 8:30 PM, this Thursday, June 19th, along, naturally, Baltimore Avenue. For a detailed map of the proceedings, click here. As the name suggests, many of the vendors will be selling their goods for only $1, which is a pretty great deal, so be sure to come out and sample some delicious food for an unbeatable price.
