Out of Touch

The brain and sole member of Brothertiger, John Jagos, has created an incredible piece of art with the release of his third full-length LP, Out of Touch. Jagos is definitely one of the best in the genre of chillwave and electronic music and Out of Touch hits it out of the park. The record is full of excellent electronic, synthpop, and chillwave melodies and jams ready for you to sit back and chillax.
The record opens with the third single, “Beyond The Infinite,” a track full of soothing synths and catchy melodies, then rolls into the second track, “Wake.” “Wake” is quintessential chillwave; from the guitars in the opening of the track to the catchy melody of verses and choruses of the song, it’s just perfect. This is a track that you’ll add to your Chillwave playlist, the Best Indie playlist, etc.
Out of Touch is a journey of different emotional states – from happiness, loneliness, joy, and fatigue – the record elicits emotion from the listener. The notes and the lyrics are just tearing at your heartstrings trying to make you feel something or surface old emotions.
On “High Tide”, Jagos opens the track with a synth-heavy melody and sings “you run through the forest / away from it all / you soak in the current / with your back to the wall…” The track is a very low-key, but melodic, with a signature indie rock, synth pop, and chillwave vibe.
Overall, this record is the epitome of an excellent chillwave / synthpop album. Jagos is definitely one of the best in the genre when it comes to creating true art in the form of chillwave / synthpop.
