Covering everything from robot armies to Super Mario, local “nerd-rock” boys, Robots and Racecars, bring out an air of fun with their neo-emo, post-punk release of Rage Quit. While their songs may come off sounding like Sonic and Tails found their way into a recording studio, RnR bring a very elemental style to their approach. They pay special attention to their rhythms and progressions while peppering in some gang vocals and dropped beats to help squeeze out that little bit of emotion necessary to make their songs come together.
They even showcase some of their versatility on slower tracks such as “High Water Mark” and “Act IV: Don’t worry baby (it’s just the world ending)“. All in all, Rage Quit is light-hearted, fun and ecclectic within the confines of their style. Somebody get these guys some guitars shaped like Nintendo controllers and press “Start”.
