Thurston Moore Revisits Rock and Roll and Ruckus Recordings

Thurston Joseph Moore is one of the founding members of noise art rock pioneers Sonic Youth and has re-released the gem “Klangfarbenmelodie.. And The Colorist Strikes Primitiv”. Say that five times fast.
Originally released in 1995, the album name translates roughly to “sound color melody” and describes a musical technique of splitting several instruments and creating a color or texture. The new edition features world-renowned jazz drummer and percussionist Tom Surgal as its co-pilot. Collaborations between the two began back in ’96 through the 2000s, seeing both acts joint releasing music together with Beck.
The avant-garde three track LP has been released on white vinyl via London’s Glass Modern Records and clocks in at forty minutes of pure commotion. Reminiscent of Moore’s frontman daze with Sonic Youth, one of rock and roll’s most unique outfits, KATCSP evokes the same unconventional spirit. Eccentric guitar tunings, mechanisms, and madness.
