Fashion Funk Nite, Exactly like it sounds.

With all of the underground indie fashion designers in Philly, there is a lot of product, and no way to get it to the people. That is where Fashion Funk Nite came in.  The brain child of Tyshae Danielle, a native Philadelphian and former student of Howard University’s Theater Arts program, and the collaboration of Skurban Vintro (Youniversol Fabric & Live Legendary) /Tyshae Danielle ( Youniversol Fabric), Kathia Woods (Live Legendary LLC), and Michael Davis (owner of INE Studios) Fashion Funk Nite mixed a variety of entertainment for the evening.

Some of the designers that were featured were Mico’s Jewelry Box , Xzoonami Vodou , G. Leon1938 by Alicia Pinckney , Eno Adore , Live Legendary ,and Youniversol Fabric. Embacy Modeling agency provided the stunning models who started their “runway” at the top of a spiral staircase, wrapping to the second floor and through the crowd.  There were various vendors that made up a beautiful first floor marketplace including , Music Makes Me Happy , Paper Z-Art  , WCB Leather Crafts , MaryAnn’s Daughter , Traci Lynn Fashion Jewelry , Sugarush/Motives cosmetics , and Couture Stylings.

Music was provided by Vixion Allure  and Disturbing Daisy, Live Legendary Artist (De’kokou, Space Ghost Pride, and Skurban Vintro), and Chris Vance, with Dj Les Professionels on the 1’s and 2’s. Finally charismatic hosts Margo Burr and S.frosty played off each other in their slightly flirtacious way.

Tyshae Danielle spoke on the next step for FFN “In the future we hope Fashion Funk Nite will continue to merge fashion and music, while giving upcoming designers in our city an outlet for their artistry.
