Come out and celebrate with the community as the West Park Cultural Center presents their annual West Park Arts Festival with the theme “Friends Across Cultures.” This free event is open to the public on Saturday, June 8, 2013 from 11am to 5pm. Bring out the entire family to indulge in the culture and arts Philadelphia has to offer. The festival is centered around School of the Future on 4021 Parkside Avenue in Fairmount Park.
Singers, dancers, and spoken word artists will take the stage at the West Park Arts Festival. Performances by Monica McIntyre, Sattriya Dance Co., Jaye Allison and many other talented artists. Children of all ages can enjoy face painting, book giveaways, storytelling, theatre workshops, and more. Don’t miss your history lesson! Take a ride on the free guided trolley tour of the Centennial District, hosted by Kathy Lee. The tours will be offered from Noon until 3pm.
The West Park Cultural Center has over 30 partners to bring you this incredible event including West Philadelphia Cultural Alliance, Please Touch Museum, Urban Suburban Film Festival, The Franklin Institute, and many more. Food vendors, culture, arts, and live performances are all in store for you at the 6th Annual West Park Arts Festival.
