The WXPN Music Film Festival is back, April 11th-14th. Now in its second year, this event promises four straight days of musical films. Whether they be documentaries about bands, biopics of musicians, or simply movies with great soundtracks, the festival will have them all. Last year’s festival opened and closed with two documentaries: The Big Easy Express, which follows neo-folk bands Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros, Old Crow Medicine Show and Mumford and Sons on a tour from LA to New Orleans; and Under African Skies, which took the trip with Paul Simon on his return to South Africa for the 25th anniversary of his album Graceland. And of course there were the films with the unforgettable soundtracks, like the cult classic The Rocky Horror Picture Show.
