Each year, some of our writers share what they are looking forward to in the new year.

I would have to say that I am looking forward to watching developments for Pages & Poets. I think they have the makings of a very successful band and I see no reason why 2015 should be anything but explosive for them. -Peter Brizick

I’m super excited for Blackberry Smoke’s upcoming February 10th release of their new LP, Holding All The Roses. I heard several of their new songs at their shows last year and loved them. Their tour kicks off in 2015 and I already have tickets to see them at the Ryman in Nashville, Silver Spring and Richmond. Blackberry Smoke’s live shows are an epic experience, so I can’t wait to “feel a good one comin’ on.” -Jane Roser

2015 means the 50th Anniversary of Grateful Dead to me, looking forward to see how the “Core 4” come together to celebrate it. Also other tributes, not involving the actual GD members, like Steve Kimock’s Jerry Garcia Tribute on March 15th at Ardmore Music Hall. –Bud Fulginiti

For 2015, I’m looking for the long anticipated return of one of my favorite indie-rock bands, Modest Mouse. They just released their first single from the album Strangers to Ourselves and the song sounded anything but unfamiliar from their music. Can’t wait to check the rest out! -Brittney Corridean
