The Wayside

Nashville-based rock group Tyler Bryant & the Shakedown releases their new EP, The Wayside, today.
The band is fronted by Tyler Bryant, who previously worked as a solo artist and has toured with huge acts like Aerosmith and Styx. The Shakedown’s debut album, Wild Child, was released in early 2013 and was met with positive feedback from critics. On The Wayside, the Shakedown takes us back to the days of pure rock and roll music.
“Loaded Dice & Buried Money” is the EP’s gritty first single and hits you like a punch in the face after hearing the opening riff. This one is my personal favorite because it sounds like it could have been released in the early nineties, and I’m a sucker for nineties nostalgia. The 80s-infused track “Stitch It Up” sounds like what would happen if Jon Bon Jovi joined Alice in Chains, a strange combination that somehow works. That same vibe carries over onto “Mojo Workin’”, a down and dirty rock number I could see becoming a strip-club anthem in a few years.
Tyler Bryant & the Shakedown is currently on tour with the Sheepdogs, so be sure to check them out when they make their way through your city.
