Queen of the Clouds, Tove Lo’s new album, is exhilarating.
With clear and superbly polished and instrumentation and vocals, Queen of the Clouds is simply easy to listen to. There are no jarring notes or garbled passages that require repeating the song to understand what is being said. Deep lyrics ensnare the listener, adding a layer of substance to what could have easily been labeled “just another pop album”. The always popular topic of love is the focus of Queen of the Clouds, but Tove Lo, who narrates the stages of a relationship in sound bytes between songs, manages to be rawly honest about the emotions of a relationship without driving listeners into the depths of despair.
With the majority of the songs being up beat, Queen of the Clouds will soon be featured at innumerable bars and clubs. It is only a matter of time before Tove Lo is featured on the Top 40 lists.
