Wicked Nature
Review by: Rebecca Robinson
Wicked Nature, the newest album by The Vines, has the potential to become the biggest hit of this fall. Ranging from fast paced, up beat pieces to slower, more sedate songs, Wicked Nature effortlessly captures the dwindling end of summer and the embarkment of a new season.
Wicked Nature is the definition of polished rock, featuring a well done blend of drums and guitars that is at times impassioned, but rarely frenzied. The vocals are mostly clear and easily lend themselves to the varying moods of the album. While the first half of the album is more focused on the instrumentation, the second half of the album is more vocal-centric, with rather impactful lyrics. This arrangement works rather well, allowing The Vines to expose their fans to the broad scope of their talent without loosing their “sound”.
Old fans and new listeners interested in rock will enjoy Wicked Nature. I’m planing to purchase my copy this week.
