Just look for the Maypole on May 3rd and head down to the HeadHouse District for the 2nd Annual South Street Spring Festival. It’s the city’s largest new outdoor block party.
The Festival spans nearly eight blocks on South Street between Front St. and 8th St. where at least 30+ restaurants, bars and eateries will be serving signature brews, dishes and treats. Closing down the streets and transforming them into smorgasbords of food, music, art and shopping, the fun doesn’t stop there. Live music will be everywhere with three stages and well over a dozen diverse performers, set to serenade.
The kid zone will be just as packed as the dance floors and stage areas with engaging creative activities for the young and friendly. While the Heroes Zone has partnered with ART/GAGE by Philadelphia’s Magic Gardens (PMG) which will provide low cost and free arts and crafts while recognizing the service of our police officers, firefighters and military forces.
Not to be outdone, Brauhaus Schmitz, located on block 700, will be drowned in all things German from beers and dancers to food and flower crowns, as it hosts the 2nd Annual German Maifest, the German Celebration of the arrival of spring.
Saturday’s events are free and open to the public. While vendor prices may vary, all of those in attendance are sure to have special deals, offers and promotions.
