Good Luck Charm

Solid sweet tea drinking, BBQ pickin’ Alt-Country music for these hot summer days!
The Mastersons embody something that is difficult to achieve- two voices, two notes, one sound. This husband and wife duo weave in and out of beautiful, complex harmonies in each of their songs on Good Luck Charm, while showcasing classic Alt-Country instruments like pedal steel, slide guitar and a sweet sounding Wurlitzer organ. Lead singers Chris Masterson and Eleanor Whitmore show off their stuff solo on a couple of songs, but the true synergistic experience is felt when the two sing in tandem.
The album starts out with Whitmore’s clear, spinning vocals and a strummed guitar, soon followed by Masterson’s harmonies. The song continues to build with percussion and organ, and grows into an upbeat and fully orchestrated gem of a song with so much space you would think it was recorded outside. The album just continues to get better, with a pure country ho-down of a song, “Anywhere But Here”, and a beautiful, string heavy ballad titled “I Found You” with a stunning a cappella break in the middle of the song. Good Luck Charm is a well rounded, dynamic display of just how talented The Mastersons are together.
You’ll be doing yourself a favor buying The Masterson’s second album. You’ll journey with them through sky high anthems and low down honkey tonk, as well as gorgeous ballads and masterful instrumentation. This album is best in the summer, so I wouldn’t delay!
