Disclaimer: At a recent stop on the Mad Decent Block Party tour in Maryland, MD, 20 attendees were hospitalized and one passed away, likely from drug-related causes. For those of you who are attending the Philly stop, we urge you to please exercise caution and responsibility while enjoying the music.
Globetrotting superproducer/DJ Diplo and his Mad Decent crew are bringing their party to Philly! On August 8th, the Mad Decent Block Party Tour will pull up to Festival Pier for a full day and night of nonstop dance music.
The Philly stop on the Block Party’s tour will feature national stars like Chicago upstart Chance The Rapper, EDM juggernaut duo Flosstradamus, Diplo (naturally), American moombahton proponent Dillon Francis, and French hip hop DJ/producer DJ Snake. However, aside from these big names, what is perhaps most exciting will be the local acts and names unique to this stop on the tour. In particular, legendary Philly Club music pioneer DJ Sega will make an appearance, alongside Swizzymack, the 19 year old phenomenon representing the new generation of the bass heavy, syncopated and powerful Philly sound. Finally, local DJ Dirty South Joe and pop vocalist Mike Taylor round out this excellent lineup.
As previously mentioned, the Philadelphia edition of the Mad Decent Block Party will be held on Friday August 8th at Festival Pier at Penn’s Landing, located on 601 N Columbus Blvd. The music will kick off at 3 PM sharp. Tickets are sold out, but if you already have tickets, or if you are willing to buy from StubHub, then there will be no finer showcase of modern, party-starting dance music in Philly this year.
