Dorado

Dorado is the 4-song follow up EP to the band’s full-length album release last year titled VA. It’s almost a tease that there are only four songs for which to get a Last Bison fix, but maybe that’s their plan; to keep you itching for more.
“Souls in the Sand” is the lead off song and gives the EP a great start off tone and energy that leads into, for me, one of the best songs The Last Bison has, “This Changes Everything”. SoundCloud is an interesting measure on what people like and are listening to- “This Changes Everything” has three times as many plays as the other songs on the EP, and it’s not because the other songs are inferior, it’s because “This Changes Everything” is special, full of energy, with a melody that’s intricate, harmonious and catchy. It’s a worthy song that demands attention and airplay.
The EP title song “Dorado” is a heartfelt one that fully captures the emotional outpour that singer Ben Hardesty puts into all of his performances, and to be able to grab a piece of that on tape is truly special. Closing the EP is a beautiful soundscape of strings and a softer side of The Last Bison; “You Are The Only One” is guaranteed to give you goose bumps.
The Last Bison has done it again, they keep putting out great music, and they keep you wanting more!
