Your search for a band with hardcore rifts and vocals that thrill you to the core of your soul ends here. Indeed the End. This is the decisive name of a local band from Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. Their sound is an amalgam of hardcore and djent with some metalcore influence that overall produces a heavy yet groovy sound to successfully integrate various core genres together. If you listen closely enough, you can hear slight influences from Emmure, Volumes, The Acacia Strain, and Legend.
After a few structural reorganizations from band members leaving and entering, the band has stumbled upon the perfect concoction with Brent on drums, Nate on lead guitar, CJ on guitar, Kurt on vocals, and Tristan on bass. Although the band has only been together for approximately a year, they have made great strides in improving upon their music. Each song they make is just better, harder, more voracious, more ferocious than the last. They constantly try to outdo themselves and introduce some new element that their last songs didn’t have. However, don’t reduce these guys to being a one trick pony. They are extremely talented and have a wide range of capability.
Currently, Indeed the End only has one recorded song out on their Facebook page called “Westboro”. The band claims that this is actually their weakest song! If this is their weakest song, get ready because the rest of their music is not for the faint of heart. They were only able to record one song in the studio at the time due to financial issues but after recording a few hours at a time, decided to ultimately go with a song with a steady tempo. In fact, one of their major obstacles remains funding. Hopefully, this issue will be resolved soon so that we can hear more of their stuff. The other songs they have in their stockpile are more diverse which goes to highlight their flexibility.
Signed with Russet Records after being discovered playing with Ace Augustine at the Champ in Lemoyne in May 2012, the band is off to bigger and greater things. In the near future, they will be working on getting their EP released as well as producing merchandise to promote themselves amongst their fanbase. In terms of their EP, one idea they have for the intro is to start out with an emergency message you would hear during the midst of a nuclear attack. From that, a post apocalyptic Mad Max theme has developed for their EP. Get ready for your pulses to start racing and for the chaos of notes and trenchant rifts if that’s what they have in store for us!
Traditionally, every band member writes lyrics in their spare time so that everyone has an equal opportunity to bring something to the table and to start experimenting. This allows the band to remain fresh with their songs. Other times, Kurt, the vocalist, writes lyrics as the rest of the band follows suit with an according melody. No set rigid parameters for these guys, so don’t expect them to be following any conventional rules. We will be surprised by this band over and over again if “Westboro” is any indication.
Furthermore, we can expect a tour of these guys pretty soon. In fact, just to get a small taste of their music, head over to the Crocodile Rock in Allentown, PA on Saturday July 27th! Your ears and souls will bleed hardcore music as soon as you step into the doors. For more information, please check them out at https://www.facebook.com/indeedtheend.
