Get ready for some intense emotional turmoil coming from the California-based “chainsaw pop” trio Terry Malts. The trio’s latest album, Nobody Realizes This is Nowhere, features seven ominous tracks telling stories about how ridiculous the human race can be. For instance, the first track “Two Faces” features moaning vocals and abrasive chainsaw pop melodies. This track is a lonely tale about a person who is tired of being lied to by individuals who were once trusted friends.
Meanwhile, the tone in the second track “Human Race” is a little less abrasive with smooth, but chilling melodies and sorrowful vocals that sound like a person sobbing uncontrollably. This track is a heart wrenching tale about a troubled person who is struggling to cope with the unpredictability of humanity. This album is very gloomy and brings out the darker side of life with lyrics that are honest and comprehensible adding to the potent and icy melodies.
