They Want My Soul, the newest album by Spoon, is the perfect album for the end of summer. Strong drums throughout the album will cause even the most wary of listeners to nod their head along to the beats.
Although true to Spoon’s alternative roots, They Want My Soul manages to feature both crisp vocals and harmoniously blended instrumentation, something not always seen in this genre. The lyrics and vocals range
from fun to impassioned, but never lose their clarity. The album effortlessly shifts moods several times in a brilliant showcase of Spoon’s talents.
Overall, They Want My Soul is a polished, brilliantly composed, and wonderfully executed album.
