This year’s Philly Pride Day, which will take place on Sunday, June 8th, offers a number of LGBT-related events from music and speakers, to marriages at Independence Hall. Of course, all of these will be centered around the parade, which will travel from 13th and Locust to the festival grounds on the Great Plaza at Penn’s Landing from 12 PM to 1:30 PM. The lineup of music for Philly Pride is packed, ranging from the headliner, the famed disco/70s pop group The Village People, to string quartet Well Strung, to rock band BETTY, and many more. In addition, there will be a dunk tank, dancing, food trucks, and lots of beer, wine, vodka and more, along with STD testing for attendees. The wedding ceremonies at Independence Hall are new for this year, and whether you’re getting hitched yourself, know someone tying the knot there, or if you’re just in the mood to watch the ceremonies on a lovely day, they will be a must-see part of Philly Pride 2014.
Leading up to this year’s Philly Pride Day, there will also be a number of other events, including a Block Party on 12th Street on Friday and the Annual Dyke March at Kahn Park and the William Way Homecoming on Saturday. For more information on all of the above, and to check out the full lineup for Philly Pride, visit their website here. The event is only $15, so you can come and enjoy without breaking the bank. Come to Philly Pride Day 2014, and enjoy a beautiful day out and proud in the city!
