Sperm Tsunami

To say that this album is not for children might be the understatement of the post Mayan Calendar. SparkleFiight’s latest album Sperm Tsunami is an extreme take on the punk genre first pioneered by the likes of The Vandals, where the subject matter is more comical than it is serious. The introduction to the album is a spoken piece comparing the sound of a woman’s reproductive organs to that of noises the singer can make with his mouth, later leading into a heavy instrumental interlude with vocals proclaiming the various vulgar things they plan on doing to the listeners loved ones.
It is hard to say that I am not an instant fan of SparkleFight because they are simply entertaining, and isn’t that what it is all about? Although I would never pass this album along to my younger family members, Sperm Tsunami has its place among some of the most reminiscent of NOFX tracks. With track names such as “Shave All Your Glory”, “This Dick’s A Pipebomb”, and “Go Comatose for Me Baby”, SparkleFight never makes an attempt to mask the content in their songs. I wish I could explain further the subject matter, but I think that should be saved for a more personal experience for the listener.
If Sperm Tsunami can be summarized in any way, it would have to be called the best promotion for a live show I can think of. Every track gives the audience more of a reason to experience this band in person. All I can think about is where I can buy my ticket to the next SparkleFight show.
