Singaporean director, actress, and singer/songwriter, Annette Lee, is thrilled to share a new single, “Gold”, from her forthcoming sophomore EP, Song For The Underdog. Her EP is set to release on April 15.
The song, “Gold”, is a beautiful, uplifting folk-pop track. According to Lee, the song was written during a visit and experience she had at Sovereign Hill, a historic gold mine site Ballarat, Australia.
She explains, “As I stood in a mine 1500ft underground, I remember thinking, I wonder if the gold even knew how valuable it was that people would go through so much just to find it? If it was never found, perhaps it would never know. Gold is a song about how sometimes it takes someone else to find the gold in us, for us to see that gold in ourselves.”
The EP was produced by Nashville-based professionals, Colton Price and Jerricho Scroggins of Bridgehouse Productions. Lee has a web series titled ‘You Only Debut Once’. The series tells the story of an artist trying to find a music career in Singapore, and Lee‘s lead single, “Song For The Underdog”, is the show’s theme song.
