Shoegaze and indie-rock NYC-based band, The Foxfires, recently released their new single and lyric video for their song, “Orion,” out now! The new dream-pop/shoegaze single is based on the representation of ‘The Huntsman’ from Greek Mythology and is described as a “conscientious response to a year when everything seems uncertain.”
Their new pop/alt-rock single highlights their great energy through the spacey and ambient sound through their vocals and instrumentation. My favorite section is definitely the guitar part, and I love that it sticks out just enough to be noticed and appreciated, but not so much that it doesn’t belong. The song is authentic and wholesome, with a hint of nostalgia bringing it to life.
“Orion” is very relevant to the state of the world we are in, and the fact that they are using this platform to exploit the problems in the world is very remarkable.
The group shares that even though they couldn’t play live shows in 2020, that they still wanted to “bring the same radiant energy to the studio to produce hits like ‘Orion’ for fans and followers to play when they need a dose of positivity” which is most definitely needed right now.
