I’m in a Mood

I feel like every time I turn around Scot Sax is handing me a silver disc with great tunes, but this time it was different. This time the silver disc was sent to me via the U.S. Mail. I wonder if there is some hidden irony in this or if Scot just has a few mail carrier friends. Either way the Postal Service thanks him.
So here it is, this shiny silver disc that (according to the accompanying letter) contains a “clean slate with the release of his new blues and Americana album, I’m in a Mood. Wait, what? No more rock/pop songs? What am I to expect from one of my favorite singer/songwriters?! Curiously, I put the CD into my computer and hit play.
Immediately, I’m struck by the sound of slide guitar and the fun playful lyrics of “Hate to Love,” where Sax promises to turn our hate to love. Oh, I think I see where this is going… and I like it! Then when I got to track number five, “Istanbul” I loved it! Then when the last track came on, “Not Just Now and Then”, a sweet and tender duet with Sax’s wife, Suzie is when the whole album made sense to me.
Scot Sax is back and ready to give Philadelphia a taste of Americana. And, you have to be there on November 9th when he celebrates his CD release party at the new and beautiful Ardmore Music Hall because, Philly, Sax has announced that he is moving to Nashville after the show. You can address your complaints/well wishes to Scot and Suzie via Twitter @scotsax, and show your support by purchasing one of those fancy silver discs through scotsax.com, select retailers, or download from your favorite site!
