Rising artist Andie Case’s new single, “I Think I’m God,” is released today, February 22, 2022. It is a song about being confident in yourself and knowing that you deserve love and respect.
The single is unapologetic, confident, and assertive. Case’s lyrics show that she knows who she is and wants. It showcases women’s power and society’s limits on how they act. This is evident in the line, “They say ‘Girl don’t have an ego.'” Case pushes back against these limits, expressing her confidence and demanding the respect that she knows she deserves.
Stylistically, the song is unique. It has a bit of a hip-hop feel to it while incorporating rock. The mixing is well done, with Case’s singing easy to hear and understand and the background instrumentals in good balance. She has released covers of various styles in the past, so hearing this song in comparison shows Case’s versatility and talent. “I Think I’m God” showcases Case’s personality and style in a way that her covers may not have a chance to.
Case is a Seattle native. She moved to Los Angeles when she was 18 and lived out of her car to pursue her dreams of becoming a musician. When she met Ajay Marshall, he took her under his wing and helped her record music. Since then, she has been on tour worldwide with her band. She has even performed in Malaysia and Hong Kong.
Aside from her new single, she has released songs on Spotify and YouTube. These platforms have skyrocketed the singer’s popularity, with 1.4 million YouTube subscribers. Her cover of Jason Derulo’s “Want You To Want Me” is one of her most popular covers, landing her on iTunes Top 100.
Other accolades include MTV’s Cover of the Year Award for her and Mike Tompkin’s “Stay” cover by Zedd and Alessia Cara, as well as winning Usher’s competition “Megastar.”
Case has proved her versatility and talent, and her new single is just the next step forward for her. She has the strength, personality, and skill to keep pushing her music. Keep an eye out for the name Andie Case; she has a solid career ahead of her.
