Electronic pop artist, Amanda Easton, announces the release of her new album, Wallflower, to be released on February 20. The album will be released via vinyl on Renaissance Records.
“This album was made in 2020 which had a lot more time for introspection than usual! I thought a lot about my lack of confidence and shyness as a teenager. While I still have moments of insecurity, I think how far I’ve come and I’d like to about to go back and tell my younger self not to worry, that I would ‘bloom eventually’. Teenage ‘me’ is the Wallflower in the title and this album tells stories about events and people from my past,” Amanda Easton explained.
The album opens with the sultry track, “Girl In The Song.” She has an incredible voice, it’s very sultry and sexy, and has an R&B/pop sound to it. It’s not going to be the next pop anthem, but she definitely has an incredible voice.
I really enjoyed the title track, “Wallflower,” and I think it’s definitely one of the better songs on the album, so far. I’m noticing that many of her songs are kind of sounding the same, however, unfortunately. I like the story behind “Wallflower,” and its sultry, sexy R&B sound.
“Conversation” is a track that talks about wanting to have a conversation with someone. On “Linea Nigra,” the tempo is more upbeat and has more of an 80’s vibe. A lot of her songs on this record have an 80’s vibe, to be honest. This track brings diversity and a different temperament to the record, but again, on track, “Don’t Even Take Off Your Coat,” just sounds so similar to her other songs.
Overall, there are a few good songs on the record, but overall the album is just okay.
