Quasi releases a double album in honor of their 20th year as a band. This 24-track album has a various mix of sounds, track lengths and vocals. The album is a tribute to their past work as well as a basis for some experimental tracks that sound very different than the rest. Overall the album had some good tracks with strong guitar but the 24-tracks felt very long. The vocals were strong but Weiss didn’t lend vocals to many of the songs.
“Chrome Duck” and “Loopy” were two of the songs that didn’t quite seem to mesh the rock feel this indie, home recorded duo create in the other 22 tracks. “Blasted”, “You Can Stay But You Gotta Go” and “Chumps by Chance” were great rock tracks with solid roots in the genre and unmistakable for any other sound. Along with these were many songs that seemed reminiscent of a piano bar-“Headshrinker” and “See You on Mars”. Both were enjoyable but “See You On Mars” was a favorite track of the album along with “You Can Stay But You Gotta Go”.
