Today marks a new era for the emerging pop star, Kim Petras. She is thrilled to announce her newly inked deal with the record label, Republic Records, and the release of her first single from her upcoming debut album, “Future Starts Now.”
Kim comments on the new single, “I felt so anxious at the start of lockdown because, for me, the most anxiety-inducing thing is not being able to work and do what I love. “Future Starts Now” came from trying to stay present, instead of stressing about the future and all the lost time.”
The new single is a party of different sounds from 80s dance to European house music with even some aspects of disco. I love the high energy and how innovative she is being with her sound. She’s being current with the trends and making music that’s only hers. Much of the music that inspired the song, she discovered on trips to Paris with her family. “Future Starts Now” gives us a new beginning after a tough year while aiming to showcase “the euphoria of being in the moment.”
