Philadelphia-based synthpop band, Suburban Living, shares their latest record, How To Be Human, out now on EggHunt Records. How To Be Human presents the band’s interpretations, which meld various influences in amongst the record. They are able to balance both mainstream synth-pop with goth rock, shoegaze, and post-punk inflections. It seems to teeter the line that Robert Smith paved the way for other artists to follow.
Wesley Bunch completed How To Be Human at Brian Dale Allen Strouse’s home studio in New Hope, PA, as well as Diamond City Studio in Greenpoint, Brooklyn, NY.
“I’d never really had songs that told stories before,” he says, noting that the album’s lush, ’80s-inspired lead single ‘Main Street’ is “just a story about every city.”
