The Philadelphia indie-electronic duo, DECOUPLR, reveals their new single, “Cold Sweat,” which is out now and available on all DSP’s. They also are thrilled to announce the forthcoming release of their debut album, Digital Bonfire, scheduled for release in February 2021.
When the duo began in West Philadelphia last year, they realized that could create a spectacular sound by blending Bailey Walker‘s vocals with Adam Laub‘s electronic music to create a unique sound.
The debut single, “Cold Sweat,” blends layers of sound “that mimic the stacking emotions of a dissociated anxiousness.”
“I thought about the concept of distance in a modern technological world,” explains Walker. “To me, ‘Cold Sweat’ is an intersection of the whirling uncertainties of this year colliding with a desire to be vulnerable with our closest friends.”
Laub has played in other Philly-area bands including a punk band called OhBree, a grindcore project called Transdimensional Junkie, and a noise music project called Tidal Archive. Walker began making music in Savannah, GA, and worked with the local band, Rich Animals, before she began working on her solo material, recording with some of the members of the band, A Fragile Tomorrow!
