Overnight
Reviewed by: John Hyland
Founded only a few years ago, Parachute, has come a long way from their Charlottesville, Virginia roots. The band is about to embark on a countrywide tour with the release of their third album Overnight. The highly anticipated album is sure to excite fans with its buoyant energy. Overnight has the alternative pop qualities of the band’s previous albums, but has the vigor and vitality to be their best album yet.
“Meant To Be” starts off the album with its quick upbeat tone. Following is “Can’t Help” the first single released off the album. It has a pop rock feel that bodes well of the whole album. “Higher” is the closing song on the album and it does not disappoint. The undulating rhythm of the song has a more hard rock feel then others on the album. The song has band members chanting “Higher” as the shifting beats add an inflection of a live show. “Higher” closes the album, but it also might be the best song of the album.
Overnight will not disappoint fans of Parachute. The band progresses with each album they make and they are destined to get even better. With nothing holding them back the band is sure to grow at a rapid pace. This album is sure to garner positive attention for the band and leave fans anticipating what will come next.
