Norwegian EDM-fusion artist, Morten Richter, who performs under the name, Metaspion, shares the brand new lyric video for his brand new single, “Pyros.”
Metaspion is the musical vision of Norwegian musician, Morten Richter. Richter, who is known for his glam rock past, felt rock’ n roll didn’t feel right anymore and wanted to reinvent his sound. That’s where Metaspion came in. With a passion for both folk and electronic music, Richter created this folktronica project, Metaspion, that blends hip-hop, trap, electronica, and folk to create a sound that clearly shows various influences.
His idea was to blend the old with the new: the traditional Scandinavian folk music with the growing genre of modern electronic dance music (EDM). He layers sick trap and hip-hop beats over funky fiddle melodies. In a press release, Richter explains his vision.
“I want to bring those vibes and that energy into the electronic music today and combine it with crazy new sounds,” he explains. “I want to make people dance and to make younger people curious to check out more of the wonderful treasures that are to be found in Norwegian folk music and folk dance. The music is still relevant.”
