The up and coming pop collective, No Past No Future, release their debut single, “No Plug,” via their N.P.N.F. label imprint. N.P.N.F. is a creative collective that was born out of songwriter and artist, Yung Hemingway‘s creative vision, and songwriters/producers/DJ’s Ty-Kee and Earl.
N.P.N.F., which stands for No Past No Future, was influenced by the book, The Power of Now by Ekhart Tolle.
“When one of us is getting in our heads, we motivate one another to stay present in the moment. This really helps me as the lone artist. There is a lot of doubt, anxiety and pressure you deal with being a new artist,” says Yung Hemingway. “I found myself having difficulty just being able to start the process until I met these guys.”
Living in different cities definitely delivered issues for the trio; however, they made the decision to meet in Los Angeles to record. After a week of Birthday Cake sativa, and Casa Migo’s Anejo tequila, their first set of music was created. They call this wave, Lakeside Vibes, Vol. 1 (their upcoming EP), to pay respect to Yung Hemingway‘s roots in Chicago, as well as their first time recording in the Silverlake area of Los Angeles.
The trio met when a mutual creative and member of the the collective KB (a.k.a. The great connector) introduced everyone. “Earl and I have been working together for a while so we already had strong chemistry, but when we met Yung Hemingway the connection was instant,” adds Ty-Kee.
