New Jersey singer-songwriter, Jackie June, just released her newest single, “On The Move,” with Chris McKenna and Jason Haag.
“On The Move” is a catchy pop-country contemporary song that I think will resonate very well with a lot of people. Her lyrics are personable and her deliverance is strong and simple.
Her song is heavily influenced by some modern country songs that are reflected in her writing style and the style of her voice. Her vocal range is really broad, but I almost think there was something that she was holding back. It felt like we almost got to the peak, but fell a hair short. I loved the relatability of her song because I think it will connect very easily with a ton of people. Her lyrics tell one cohesive story from beginning to end like “this house was never a home, she got tired of being alone…” Which then transitions into her chorus.
The bridge of her song softens her sound which allows for an even bigger sounding ending. The only problem I really had with the song is that the harmonies are not as present as I would like them to be. I think they were written well, but it was difficult to catch some of them because they got lost in the mix.
Overall, I really did enjoy listening to this song and I think she is onto something special. I can’t wait to see what other music she has in store for us!
