Self-Titled

Nedelle Torrisi has many monikers: Paradise, Nedelle…her self-titled, self-released solo album is her first where she uses her entire name. Made in collaboration with Kenny Gilmore and featuring Dev Hynes, Nite Jewel and Julia Holter, Torrisi is a jack of many trades, playing guitar and piano, as well as singing the vocals. Not surprising since her mom is a pianist and her dad is a jazz drummer. This lady has music in her soul.
A voice of an angel (ironic considering I read that her mom is a former nun) singing each song with a dreamy, calm breath, Torrisi has a girl-next door innocence. The album is ethereal and gorgeous, with a tint of new ageism that reminded me of the music my massage therapist plays, which isn’t necessarily a good thing.
It’s a pretty album, but it’s not perfect. Needs a little salt.
