Strangers Only

A few decades back the in thing with music was for artists to scream their lungs out on top of awesome tracks. My Ticket Home is a band who takes up this genre on their album, Strangers Only. The genre is now being called “Puke Rock”. This band sounds a lot like Slipknot and Korn, others from this genre when it was popular who are stand out musicians. My Ticket Home also seem to mix in a bit of punk rock into some of the tracks.
The ten-track album predominately features tracks being shouted, full of anger and a little painful to listen to if you don’t like the loud volume shouting. “Spit Not Chewed” is the opening track and it certainly shows off the quality of music as well as just how loud the band can scream. The tracks overall did not have too much variation. Many sounded just like the one that came before it. However I did think they had some clever titles that would really draw me into listening to a track such as “Kick Rocks” and “Teenage Cremation”.
Along with that there are two tracks where the screaming takes a backseat and actual vocals and singing come in. “Head Change”, “Keep Alone” and ” Hot Soap” were stand out tracks. It featured the same quality but showed the band has the ability to sing when needed. All things aside this album has superior musicality and enjoyed tracks, if you can over look the screaming.
