Antiphon

Midlake’s 4th album, Antiphon, is brought with a new lead singer, Eric Pulido. This album has a strong psychedelic rock feel with a little bit of indie folk rock.
“Provider” was one of the stand out tracks in my mind as it appeared to tell a history of sort with it’s lyrics. The album ends with a reprise of the track and it was a nice tie in to the beginning and closer. However, “The Old and The Young” was easily the strongest track in the album. It was a little more fun and upbeat sounding as well as a catchy chorus that drew you into the song. “Vale” was a nice track, solid instrumental, and didn’t lose anything for the lack of vocals. All of the songs possessed that slightly eerie but uptempo quality of psychedelic rock.
