Hang

Hang, Lagwagon’s latest album, is what happened to that garage band in high school that managed to score a record deal. They evolved their sound just enough to come across polished and professional without losing their style.
Starting off with a rather mellow guitar and vocals, the first song launches into the faster, more embodied instrumentation that characterizes the rest of the album. Even with the high tempos and strong guitars, the vocals resist being overwhelmed, allowing the lyrics to be easily discernible. This works to the benefit of Hang, as the lyrics are on the deeper side and will resonate well with both fans and new listeners.
Hang is unapologetically a rock album, but with enough punk and alternative elements to capture a larger audience and probably a great deal of radio air time. Overall, Hang is extremely impressive and deserves at least one listen before you give in and purchase it.
