Greece’s Keep Shelly In Athens delivers a dreamy, ethereal track on their new single, “Neon Glare,” out now via Athenian Aura Recordings. With the duo’s beautiful, lush melodic beats, dreamy vocals, and terrific production, they’re able to create a song that goes beyond what is expected.
Keep Shelly In Athens is one of down-tempo electronica’s indie bests. The band’s melodic beats and dreamy vocals help to capture the emotions behind city life. On “Neon Glare,” the band blends those elements with a beautiful brass section and creates a song that transcends the test of time.
The duo has had releases on other labels including Forest Family Records, Transparent Records, Planet Mu, Cascine, and Friends of Friends. Their new EP, Defy Me, is out November 12.
RPR notes, about the new EP, “So many things have happened since the beginning of this year which could provide material for several albums! Nevertheless, in the 5 tracks from our upcoming EP, we tried to transform our anxiety about the future as well as our anger and outrage at everything that is happening right now, regarding the murder of innocent people and so many other issues, into something positive. I think this came out in a natural and unforced way, and we hope the audience will find some escape within these songs.”
