Making Time

British singer-songwriter Jamie Woon releases his second studio album, Making Time, today. Woon, who also produces his own music, released his critically-acclaimed debut, Mirrorwriting, in 2011, and has collaborated with some impressive acts, including Disclosure and the late Amy Winehouse.
Making Time’s lead single, “Sharpness”, has already been receiving praise, with Consequence of Sound calling it “a pillowy number and promising indicator of things to come.” Woon joins the ranks of musicians with similar silky, soulful voices, such as Seal and James Blake, while still maintaining an element of originality. On “Message”, an R&B-infused track, Woon showcases his signature falsetto and lush harmonies. “Little Wonder” is a gorgeous slow-tempo number, laced with poetic lyrics and a sultry, relaxing vibe.
Overall, Making Time is a solid album and one that is worth a listen. Keep your eyes and ears open for Jamie Woon, because I have a feeling you’re going to be hearing a lot more from him in the future.
