As the editor of the magazine, I receive many, many press releases from many different publicists from various public relations firms. This email from a Canadian quartet caught my ear.
This was a simple email with no indication it was sent from a publicist, but Wild Rivers themselves. The Canadian four-piece recently toured the United States and met a ton of people they connected with musically and personally.
Sometimes, as touring musicians will understand, one finds themselves in unfamiliar territory, and away from those who offer normalcy. The four members of Wild Rivers can relate to being on the road, missing some normalcy, loved ones, and having stability.
“‘Moving Target,'” the band says in the email, “the message you leave for the person back home. It’s about what we do to protect ourselves when relationships get difficult, and the realization that cutting yourself off can do more harm than good.”
The quartet recorded the track with producer Dan Hosh.
