Let’s Be Still

The Head and the Heart released their second album Let’s Be Still. The melodic vocals mesh well with the strong strums of the guitar and tin sounds of the piano throughout the album. All 13 tracks are strong and a great listen. There is a slightly odd sound as they lyrics echo in some parts and become muddled.
“Another Story” is perhaps the albums strongest track. It was melodic with soulful lyrics and a catchy tune that stood out above the rest. A feminine voice is added with Charity Thielen singing both “Springtime” and “Summertime”. In these tracks, the echo quality is less noticeable. Another strong track is the albums opener “Homecoming Heroes” which is more upbeat than the others but just as strong. “Gone” evokes a sense of closure, as if the intent behind ending the album with that track, a nice wrap up of what came before in terms of melody and emotional feel.
