Cleveland, OH-based hard rock band, A Killer’s Confession, share their new single, “Last Chance,” via Wake Up Music Rocks.
The new track illustrates the band’s in-your-face, intense musical output, as well as the frontman Waylon Reavis‘ vocal range. A Killer’s Confession is Reavis (vocals), Thomas Church (guitar), Brock Starr (guitar), JP Cross (bass), and Morgan Bauer (drums).
The track opens with a string section that gives the track some dimension before going head-first into the hard rock anthem. The band doesn’t wait too long until it breaks into the hard rock guitars and vocals. It shows the band’s ability to incorporate various instruments into their music, but their musical prowess to understand when to break the introduction.
For Reavis, it took him seventeen years until he decided it was the right time to start a band in 2016. He always wanted to start a band after all the metal bands he was a part of in the past. His dream started when guitarist Matthew Trumpy sent him a few songs, and one of them was titled “A Killer’s Confession.” After hearing the song, he realized he had to somehow convince Trumpy to join the band.
After hearing the song, Reavis sent it to his friend and Korn guitarist, Brian ‘Head’ Welch, who he hoped would produce the track. While he didn’t produce it, Welch agreed to play on the song.
Reavis and Trumpy quickly began a songwriting partnership. The band’s album, Unbroken, took thirty days to write. In September 2016, Reavis announced that A Killer’s Confession signed to EMP Label Group, and their album would be released in the spring of 2017. In May 2017, their debut album, Unbroken, was released.
Just a few short months after the release of Unbroken, the band’s contract with EMP Label Group expired. In 2018, Pepper Gomez, the founder and CEO of Chicago and Miami-based Wake Up! Music Group first heard A Killer’s Confession. Initially, the first meetings didn’t come to fruition; however, Gomez and the band were able to resume talks, and the band signed with Wake Up! Music Group. The band’s sophomore record, The Indifference of Good Men, was released in October 2019.
