Manayunk is known for great bars and trendy shops. But it’s about to be known for great dancers. Michael Jackson enthusiast and impersonators everywhere are encourage to merge onto Manayunk this Saturday, Oct 26th on Cotton street, right off of Main from 2pm to 3pm to compete for the best thriller dancer.
Get into the halloween spirit by coming dressed in your best zombie costume or Michael Jackson, or even the werewolf from the “Thriller” music video! Of course the competition is for a prize, how does $1,000 in cash prizes sound? The young zombies in the crowd, 12 and under, get a cash prizes of $250 and $50 which will rewarded for the first and second place best dancer and best costume.
Are your dance moves a little rusty? No worries, Christa Campbell, choreographer and owner of Merge Dance Studio will be on the scene leading an instruction session before the dance competition begins. Are you not a great dancer but know you’re a shoe in for the best costume? There is a prize for that, too.
To keep things fair, there will be three age categories. Kids 12 years and under, teens ages 12-18, and adults 18 and over. So shake what ya “mummy” gave ya and make your way down to Manayunk this Saturday for the Zombie Thriller Dance-Off.
But wait, there is more. This Saturday will be full of activities in Manayunk. There will be so much to see and do like face and pumpkin painting, a children’s and dog costume parade, and many more. There will be food trucks and a farmer’s market all starting at Pretzel Park in Manayunk.
