Green Day frontman Billie Joe Armstrong is set to release his YouTube cover series, No Fun Mondays, as a 14-song covers album on November 27 via Reprise/Warner Records. The release will be available on vinyl, CD, and digital.
No Fun Mondays sees Armstrong putting his signature punk-rock spin on tracks that have been the most influential throughout his life, including songs from John Lennon, Billy Bragg, and Johnny Thunders.
As a lead-up to the album, a new track will be released every week as to prepare for its delivery. Pre-order No Fun Mondays HERE.
The No Fun Mondays series began on YouTube in March on Green Day‘s YouTube channel. While like any other musician, Armstrong expected to spend much of 2020 on the road, but the COVID-19 pandemic forced the band to put the tour on hold. “While we’ve all been in quarantine I’ve been reflecting on the things that matter the most in my life: family, friends, and, of course, music,” he says. “I figure if we have to spend this time in isolation at least we can be alone together.”
Green Day will head out on a nearly sold-out global stadium tour with Fall Out Boy and Weezer next summer. The Hella Mega Tour presented by Harley-Davidson kicks off June 9th in Vienna, Austria and will visit cities throughout Europe, the U.K. and North America. Click here for all dates.
