The rising rapper, GirlzLuhDev, returns today with a brand new single and music video, “Dead Bro,” out now on Capitol Records. In the new video, the viewer sees Dev in the studio, and outside with friends, while he eloquently delivers bars with such “effortless suave” and “quiet contemplation.”
The track is built around a foundation of smooth keys and slick bass, layered over top Dev’s velvety smooth vocals. The video’s slick visuals show off the West Coast backdrop, with Dev and his crew hang out around a gas station, while two-stepping and busting moves to prepare for the summer ahead.
The new “Dead Bro” video follows Dev’s two recent singles, “Day One Starter (feat Remble)” and “Mario Chalmers,” and shows that the rising rapper is the complete package, and more than just the viral hit, “Tooka.” However, it was because of “Tooka” that he was launched from the local spotlight to national fame, eventually earning him a spot with Capitol Records.
GirlzLuhDev is already a rapper, singer, ex-basketball star, and possibly another hitmaker. He’s only a senior in high school. The 18-year-old artist from California’s Inline Empire is only a year into making music and already landed a viral hit, “Tooka,” which earned over 15 million streams alone.
