In the mood for another great outdoor music festival after last week’s Roots Picnic? This Saturday, June 7th, Festival Pier will be hosting Radio 104.5’s Summer Block Party. This is the first time that the block party has been held at Festival Pier, and the new venue promises to take this Philly staple to even greater heights. The party will be free to enter (if you print out a ticket in advance), and available to people of all ages, so there’s no reason not to come out and check out some great bands!
This edition of the block party will feature Kongos (who we interviewed in our last print edition) and The Head and the Heart (our interview featured here). In addition, Alright Junior, Bear Hands, and live DJing from Reed Streets, will round off a great lineup.
Festival Pier is located at 601 N. Columbus Blvd, and the bands will go on at 3:45, providing you with an afternoon and evening full of great tunes in a beautiful setting. Space is limited, however, so Radio 104.5 urges you to arrive beforehand to secure a spot with a great view of the stage. As mentioned earlier, the event is free, but you are required to print out a ticket to present at the gate, which you can access here. For more information, visit the event page on the Radio 104.5 website here to check out pictures, videos and more from previous block parties. It’s looking to be a great summer for live music, and every Radio 104.5 Summer Block Party is sure to be unmissable!
