Are you a die-hard hardcore punk fan? From Thursday through Sunday this week, the Electric Factory will be transformed into a slice of hardcore heaven, as some of the biggest and best bands in the genre today will play the four day festival.
For the sixth year running, This Is Hardcore will bring you a flawless lineup, jam packed with incredible bands and totaling an astonishing 61 acts over the course of the festival. Legends like the pioneering Converge and Killswitch Engage, PA emo beacons Title Fight, sludge icons Crowbar, and more will headline, but there are also a number of great, lesser-known bands on the bill, including Power Trip, Freedom, World War 4, Twitching Tongues, Test Of Time, and Expire. Whether you’re a walking encyclopedia of modern hardcore, or simply a fan who’s looking to bathe in the glory of your heroes while discovering some new music, this festival simply cannot be missed.
This Is Hardcore 2014 will take place every day from Thursday, June 24th, through Sunday, June 27th. The Electric Factory, which is hosting the festival, is located at 421 N 7th St. In addition, each day of the festival will be followed by an after party, with each being held at the Voltage Lounge, right next to the Electric Factory and including a special Noisey-presented after show on Sunday night. Tickets for each individual day, as well as three day weekend passes and four day festival passes are available here, and, once you’ve done that, also head here for the complete after party lineups and tickets. Along with the recently screened Pennsylvania Hardcore documentary, this festival caps off a great year for Philly’s punk scene.
