Soul gripping vocals dominate Stay Gold, the latest album by First Aid Kit.
Practically an ode to a young Dolly Parton and Patsy Cline, this album naturally blends polished instrumentation with deep, catchy lyrics. Embracing its country roots, Stay Gold will effortlessly ensnare the fans of most genres. Beautiful melodies that range from fun to melancholy showcase First Aid Kit’s talent for capturing and evoking a broad spectrum of moods. It is impossible to miss the haunting heartache in the songs “Cedar Lane” and “A Long Time Ago”.
Fair warning, the majority of Stay Gold does play like a soundtrack for the end of a relationship, but with such a poignant sound, anyone listening will quickly hit repeat.
